Located in the Campus Center, the Academic Success Center (ext. 4342) serves University of La Verne undergraduate and graduate students through tutoring, academic skills workshops, placement testing, and an up-to-date computer laboratory (ACC216).
Peer tutoring provides students with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in a variety of academic subjects, including social and behavioral sciences; biology and chemistry; business, accounting, and economics; computer science & engineering; English as a Second Language; languages (Spanish, French, German, and Japanese); the humanities (literature, history, philosophy, and music); mathematics & statistics; and writing and speech communications. Subject availability may change from semester to semester.
Every effort is made to provide tutoring in requested areas based on student need. All ASC tutors are trained in cultural diversity, learning needs, the tutoring process, client confidentiality (FERPA), and university policies along with supplemental professional development throughout each semester.
